The Department of Anatomy at RLKU Medical College builds a strong foundation in human structure with clear clinical relevance for early MBBS years. Teaching aligns with the UHS curriculum and mapped program learning outcomes, progressing from basic concepts to applied understanding.
Facilities include a modern Dissection Hall, a curated Anatomy Museum, and a fully equipped Histology Laboratory. Students learn through cadaveric dissection, expertly prepared prosections, osteology sets, anatomical models, and high-quality prepared histology slides viewed on light microscopes. Digital support—3D anatomy platforms and recorded demonstrations—enhances independent and small-group learning. Structured timetables, faculty allocation, and technician duty rosters ensure smooth delivery of practicals and tutorials.
Pedagogy integrates Anatomy with Physiology, Biochemistry, and clinical sciences via case-linked sessions, surface and radiological anatomy, and problem-based discussions. Regular formative assessments, OSPEs, and feedback cycles guide learning and continuous improvement. The department upholds strict ethical standards in body donation, respectful handling of human material, and laboratory safety.
Faculty contribute to curriculum review and quality enhancement. Students engage in mentorship, anatomy days, and research projects that link foundational knowledge to clinical practice. The department also supports early skills reinforcement through the Skills Lab.
Through disciplined teaching, robust resources, and student-centered support, we prepare graduates to apply anatomical knowledge confidently in diagnostics, procedures, and lifelong practice.
