World Anatomy Day

World Anatomy Day is celebrated on October 15 th  as declared by the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA) to honor Andreas Vaselius, a Belgian physician and author who died on this date in 1564. The day is an occasion to celebrate the discipline of anatomy and make countries worldwide aware of its essential role in training health science professionals. In RLKU Medical College, our mission is to provide and promote quality education, research, and skills to keep healthcare at par with international standards. Considering our mission, we strive to create an environment that will groom knowledgeable and creative students. World Anatomy Day was celebrated with immense enthusiasm amongst the students. The Anatomy Department faculty and other RKLU Medical College departments equally appreciated it.
The principal of RLKU Medical College, Prof. Arif Siddiqui, inaugurated the event along with our vice principal, Prof. Faheem Mahmood, and the other distinguished guests. The students had prepared models, posters, charts, and edible human anatomy models. All the guests were amazed at the creativity of different groups of students. The students covered nearly all Anatomy topics, including edible models of the heart, kidney, epithelium, and even placenta. There were charts and posters of neurons, developmental anatomy, and histology. This is the first year of RLKU medical college, and we have only the first-year MBBS class. Therefore, to present such a well-organized World Anatomy Day is undoubtedly an outstanding achievement by our HOD Anatomy, Prof. Shakeela Nazir.
The students were given cash prizes and medals for their excellent performance. The event was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by our worthy guests from all the departments of RLKU Medical College.
