This comprehensive 4-hour workshop condenses essential surgical skills training into a single session. Participants will gain hands-on experience in safe operative techniques, instrument handling, suturing & knot tying along with their types, tissue management, and an introduction to endoscopic Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, participants will develop the foundational skills required for surgical proficiency.

Expectations and goals

By the end of this 4-hour Basic Surgical Skills Workshop, participants will be expected to:

2. Handling of Surgical Instruments

Techniques for proper instrument handling and passing

3. Suturing and Knotting Techniques

Introduction to suturing: indications and materials
Basic suturing techniques (simple interrupted, continuous, mattress sutures)
Knot-tying techniques: single-handed and double-handed methods

4. Types of Sutures and Knots

Overview of suture materials: absorbable vs. non-absorbable
Choosing the right suture for different tissues
Types of surgical knots and their applications

5. Proper Tissue Handling

Understanding tissue properties and response to injury
Techniques for minimizing tissue trauma
Handling delicate tissues: nerves, vessels, and organs

6. Use of Endoscopic Instruments

Handling and care of endoscopic instruments along with their identification
